A Tribute to Fifth Floor

The Hip Hop outfit Fifth Floor has come a long way since the group started back in the late 90's. Since then they have seen the production of their début album "Attention to detail" and more recently their second album "Sex & Revolution"

Fifth Floor came out as a dynamic group of a 12 member crew with a collective of producers and MC's. During the time of the group’s formation, they used to frequent the then matinee in Green point Cape Town at a club called Angels. This was the platform that saw the rebirth of Hip Hop in the mother City that gave birth to many crews such as the female trio Godessa, Ben Sharper, EJ Von Lyrik, DJ Hamma, 021 Crew, TVA Crew to name a few. Fifth Floor are also among 5 S.A. bands selected for Africa '09 and were also nominated best group for the MTN Hype Magazine Awards.

Today, Fifth Floor not only is just a group but play a big part in making sure that Hip Hop stays alive in Cape Town. The adamant persistence to keep things moving saw the rise of the next generation of Hip Hop artist with collaborations with the likes of Ill-Iiterate-Skill and the ETC Crew. It is this resilience that underpins the preservation of the true and real (TREAL) essence of the integrity of the music to stays alive in the current environment of Popular culture, and that is exacerbated by global marketing through multi national corporations looking to exploit the art and make an extra buck.

At The Black Coffee and Vinny Da vinci Party. We took the liberty to set up a photo booth at the entrance. All our guest were asked to take pictures as they were coming in. We selected a few stunners just for you to get a glimpse of how good every one was looking.

The evening was a blast. I know I had a good time and you really know you had a good time when the lights at the club indicate that it is time to go home.

December 2009 Summer season began with a bang with Vinny and Black coffee comming to Cape Town. Hear you see them in a exclusive interview at the Redbull Studios where we invited industry related individuals and some of our lucky guests in out So Treal Facebook group.

After this was a small meet and greet session with the artists before they when off the their Hotels to prep for the Gig.

Our "look and feel" covers the casual look to the T(real)... Being in Cape Town we need to cater for free minded individuals who do not follow any particular trend. We have done this by only selecting pieces that are unique and special from the onset. We do not subscribe, although can cater to fashion trends that the general public follows. We make it a point that we are different and in selection of garments, we never purchase in bulk. In so doing we make it a point that if you walk out of our shop with a bag of clothing, you will find it difficult the see someone else with the same outfit. Unique is our motto.

So Treal has come a very long way since we started with the Treal Style Blog. It has been unfortunate that we have not maintained communication with updates as things developed. None the less, we have grown in stature and have refined our connections in the industry.

Over the past two years or so we have done extensive research on getting the best suppliers of clothing through mixed methods of acquiring merchandise at the most competitive prices.
